Alexander Wang x H&M catwalk debut in New York

The new Alexander Wang and H&M collaboration has CRAVE set to ‘add to cart’ in a big way! Ever since Alexander Wang announced his collaboration with H&M way back in April we’ve practically been dreaming in monochrome sports-luxe.

You may know Wang for chic minimalist casual wear but this high street collaboration sees him delve even deeper into the world of performance fabrics and functional layering to bring us exactly the signature directional sports wear we’ve been dreaming of.

It’s become a bit of a calendar event of note; the annual drop of the H&M designer collaboration has brought us affordable designer gems from the likes of Karl Largerfeld, Isabel Marant, and Versace to name but a few. This year is no exception. With the drop of the lookbook earlier this month, we now know to look forward to plentiful scuba incarnations in the forms of tube dresses and chunky sweats, mesh panelling galore, and the sort of edgy leather detailing, we’ve come to know and love, featuring on joggers and cropped bra tops and parkas. There’s no shortage of covetable accessories either, so whether you’re just itching for those essential boxing gloves or a beanie and duffle bag or two, you’ll find what you’re looking for and more. Now before you think this is all perhaps a little too athletically elitist for you, Wang confided “I’m not really an athlete, and I go to the gym very . . . minimally,” so there’s hope for us all yet!

The catwalk debut took place in New York earlier in the month, and a disappointing turn out it was not! The red carpet was graced by the likes of Solange Knowles, Mary J. Blige, and Jessica Chastain to name but a few, with many personal friends and fans of Wang coming down to the event to support. Missy Elliot undoubtedly stole the show however, with a revisit of her classics “Pass That Dutch” and “Get Ur Freak On.” Check out the exclusive H&M video to get your fix of spot the celebrity/model. By the looks of things, revelry was not in short supply. We assume our invite was lost in the Air Mail?
